General Info

Are there any specific requirements to join?

In order to join the Cardinal Wrestling Club (CWC) you must:

  • Live within 50 miles (not road distance, but as the crow flies) of the Stanford campus.
  • Have a current USA Wrestling card
  • Are willing to commit to attending all scheduled practice sessions

Club numbers will be limited based on the availability of space, with priority given to those demonstrating the highest level of commitment to competing at the championship level.

When is the start of the next season?

The CWC holds both Spring and Fall sessions each year:

  • Spring FS/GR Session
    • Post high school season (March-June)
    • Focusing on high-level freestyle and greco training, our premier session is designed to prepare wrestlers to compete at the state and national tournaments.
  • Fall Preseason Session
    • Pre high school season (September-October)
    • This session is designed to prepare wrestlers for the upcoming folkstyle/high school season.

Do I have to purchase a USA Wrestling card?

Yes! There are multiple options of membership. This membership is required for both practice and events.

USA Wrestling cards must be purchased online.


What's the price for the fall session?

  • Initial CWC member – $400
  • Returning CWC member – $350


Where are practices held?

Cardinal Wrestling Club practices take place in the recently renovated Stanford University Wrestling Room, located in the basement of the Arrillaga Family Sports Center (641 East Campus Drive, Stanford, CA 94305) on the Stanford University campus. The world-class facility features three full size mats with additional workout space and equipment.
