2006 Sunkist

Vic Moreno, ATWC's latest addition to the coaching staff, competed at the Sunkist Kids ASU International Open at ASU, October 13-14, 2006. Vic put a halt to a strong run by Erkin Tadzhimetov of the Cyclone Wrestling Club in the finals for the 55KG (121 lb.) weight class. Tadzhimetov, who was fifth at Junior Worlds in 1996, 1997 and 1998 while competing for Uzbekistan, knocked off past NCAA champion Jason Powell in the second round before pulling off the upset of the tournament when he swept U.S. Nationals champion Henry Cejudo 4-1, 1-0 in the quarterfinals.

Coach Moreno beat Tadzhimetov 1-0, 7-0 in the finals.
